The English department strives to teach the principles and mechanics of writing in the most effective and interesting manner. English classes help students to discover the power of language through close and careful reading of prose, fiction, non-fiction, poetry and plays and fine tunes it with the grammatical knowledge gained. With a deep understanding of literature and language, our English teachers, make learning an enriching experience by incorporating thought-provoking discussions, creative writing exercises, and insightful literary analysis.
We develop our students’ skills in close reading, critical thinking, effective writing and thoughtful speculation.
The teachers help students develop love for literature and deepen their curiosity in this field. At all levels, students are encouraged to work both independently and collaboratively, writing fluently adorning their piece of work with rich vocabulary and creativity.
Beyond the pages of books, English teachers instil confidence, creativity and a love for storytelling, equipping students with skills to express themselves clearly and think critically about the world around them. Our English Department has mothered actors, writers, dramatists, poets and excellent orators.
