The Coates library of Clarence High School has about 9000 books. It is reputed to be one of the best and most – equipped libraries in the city. Students from standards 3 to 12 are encouraged to use the library regularly.

The library has 6 sections:

1. The reference section – for all students
2. Magazine section – for all students who enjoy current topics
3. Senior lending library – Stds. 8, 9, 10, 11 & 12.
4. Junior lending library – Stds. 5, 6 & 7
5. Primary borrowing section – for std 3 & 4.
6. ISC section – for std. 11 & 12.

As we have photocopying facilities, students make full use of the Reference Sections from which material is used for their projects and assignments.

The library is open to all students and staff before morning assembly, during short break and Lunch break.
