CELEBRATING GOD%u2019S GOODNESS 131The Annual Sports Day was held on 24th August 2024 at the Clarence High School playground. The day was blessed with perfect weather, creating an ideal atmosphere for the events. The four Houses participated with great enthusiasm and healthy competitive spirit.The Chief Guests, Dr. Maleques Arokyanathan, Principal and Secretary of the YMCA College of Physical Education, and Mrs. Poonam Belliappa, an international athlete and Ekalavya Awardee were escorted to the stage by the Scouts and Guides, and they formally declared the Annual Athletics Meet open.Each House presented a mascot representing its values: Barton (Groot), Redwood (Charles Leclerc), Theobald (Blu) and Wilcox (Kobe Bryant). The meet began with the traditional torch run and the lighting of the cauldron led by Jerusha Benedict, along with Ayushi Bharaktiya and Kevin Joshua. This was followed by a grand march past led by School Captain Ana Johanna Flemingson and Vice-Captain Chris Jerome.Track and field events were conducted simultaneously, keeping the audience engaged throughout. After lunch, Class 6 presented a drill display, followed by a pyramid performance by Classes 10 and 12. Barton House won the Overall Championship Shield.
