Vinod Kumar has a wealth of experience in the field of finance, from the Indian Revenue Service, to the Ministry of Finance (as Joint Secretary, Tax Research Unit), and the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) as Additional Director General. He was actively involved in the formulation of policies relating to the Goods and Service Tax. He retired in 2018 as Chief Commissioner of Central Taxes, Bangalore. He was conferred the Presidential Award for ‘Specially Distinguished Record of Service’ on the occasion of Republic Day, 2009
