Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to students, faculty, and staff for hardware, software, and network-related issues. Troubleshoot and resolve problems in a timely manner to minimize disruption to academic activities.
  • Network Management: Assist in the management and maintenance of the school's computer network, including monitoring network performance, ensuring security protocols are followed, and implementing necessary upgrades or changes.
  • Hardware and Software Management: Manage inventory of hardware and software assets, including procurement, installation, and maintenance. Ensure that all computers, printers, and other devices are functioning properly and that necessary software licenses are up to date.
  • User Training and Documentation: Develop and conduct training sessions for faculty, staff, and students on the use of technology resources available in the school. Create and maintain documentation and user guides for common IT procedures and systems.
  • Data Management and Security: Implement data backup procedures to protect critical school information and ensure compliance with data protection regulations. Monitor for cybersecurity threats and take appropriate measures to safeguard the school's IT infrastructure.
  • Project Management: Assist in planning and implementing IT projects to support the school's educational goals and administrative needs. Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders as necessary to ensure successful project completion.
  • Policy Development and Compliance: Assist in the development and enforcement of IT policies and procedures to ensure the responsible use of technology resources by students, faculty, and staff. Stay informed about relevant laws and regulations pertaining to IT security and privacy.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other departments within the school to understand their technology needs and provide appropriate support and solutions. Communicate effectively with stakeholders about IT-related matters, including updates, outages, and planned maintenance.
  • Continuing Education: Stay current with advancements in technology and educational trends by participating in professional development activities, attending conferences, and pursuing relevant certifications.
  • Supervision and Leadership: Provide supervision and guidance to IT support staff or student workers. Lead by example, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment within the IT department.
