116 THE CLARENCIAN 2024-2025The Clarence High School Platinum Jubilee Inter-School English Public Speaking Competition was held on 30th July 2024 in the Flack Auditorium after the morning assembly. The auditorium was filled with excitement as students from 11 schools gathered for the event. Our respected Principal, Mrs. Ruth Manoj, escorted the judges to their seats while the participants took their places on stage. The programme was moderated by Samara Elise Prabhu from Class 10.The topic, %u201cSocial Media Promotes the Wellbeing of Adolescents,%u201d had been shared with the schools the previous day. The speakers presented strong arguments and engaging rebuttals. Clarence High School was represented by Ruth Ann Thomas (Class 10) and Anya Asirvatham (Class 9). Bethany High School won the Best Debater and Best School awards.
