CELEBRATING GOD%u2019S GOODNESS 217She learned new things every year, made friendships that would last a lifetime and learned to be her true self. Without her knowledge, Clarence had planted a tiny seed in her heart when she was little. This seed was the foundation of her values. It was nurtured with love, knowledge and daily devotion %u2014 little by little every day%u2014so that one day, it would grow into a beautiful tree, shaping her into a human being who was kind, honest and respected. The young girl learned that this year, Clarence High School was celebrating its 110th anniversary. This made her eager to learn about the rich history of her school. She started to read about it. Doing this truly made her understand how much her school had evolved over the span of 110 years. It made her realise that God%u2019s presence had been with her school from the very beginning and continues to be with Clarence High School every day. Generations of students have walked out of those gates with their heads held high, each one undoubtedly influenced by the teachings and valuable life lessons imparted by Clarence. As the girl absorbed all this information, she hoped that in the future, when she would be out in the open world, working towards her dreams, that little seed that had been planted in her heart as a child would have grown into a well-established tree that could not be uprooted easily. She hoped that she would do justice to the motto of Clarence High School and always give her %u201cUtmost for the Highest%u201d, doing her best for the Most High.Holding her parents%u2019 hands, a five-year-old girl walked through those gigantic Clarence High School gates for the first time as a Clarencian. She was not nervous;rather, exhilarated. She always wanted to know what it felt like to study in the great %u2018Clarence High School%u2019 that her older sister always boasted about. Now, she was finally there. As she walked into her classroom, she saw some familiar faces%u2014her friends from preschool. This gave her a bit of comfort. At least she wasn%u2019t going to be alone once her parents went back home. Inside the classroom stood her first teacher at Clarence High School. The little girl immediately knew that she was in good hands. So, her parents leaving her in that classroom didn%u2019t really affect her. She was rather fortunate to have a teacher who helped her feel comfortable in her new class. She learnt how to do the things she had to do, she enjoyed playing in the playground and her first day at Clarence came to an end. The days flew by quickly. The little girl made a couple of good friends along the way, made some sweet memories and officially became a first grader. Many years went by in the same manner. And before she knew it, the little girl wasn%u2019t so little anymore.A Journey Through Clarence
