CELEBRATING GOD%u2019S GOODNESS 219After some time, they asked us to unbuckle our seatbelts and gave us food and drinks. Beside me was a young lady who was drinking her coffee. Just as I was about to get up from my seat, I heard gunshots. I got startled and everyone around me started to panic. Two of the men from the front row got up from their seats with big, loaded guns. My breath hitched and I froze after seeing the scene in front of me. One of the cabin crew got shot twice in his chest just because he tried to alert the pilot. He was probably in his twenties. It was a very horrific and terrifying sight; blood was gushing out of his chest. The atmosphere on the airplane that had been calm just moments ago was now filled with the passengers%u2019 cries and prayers. At that point, I was really scared. Each and every minute I was praying to God. The dead man was lying with his eyes open and blood all over him. Sweat beads were forming on my forehead and I was having a panic attack. One of the terrorists asked me to sit down in a harsh tone and I flinched. My breathing was not stable. The girl next to me pulled me down to sit on my seat. She held my hand and tried to comfort me. I was terrified and the thought of being shot by the terrorists was making it worse. Slowly, two more men came from the inside and they told us that the plane was hijacked and that they would kill us if we did not listen to them. One of the masked men collected everyone%u2019s phones and destroyed them. The passenger sitting beside me was a little boy who was very scared. He was trying his best not to shiver. I held his hand tightly, not knowing what to say. Time passed very slowly. Meanwhile, the pilot had informed the ATC of the situation and brought the plane to the nearest landing site. The plane was landing, so the terrorists were trying to open the pilot%u2019s cabin. All the terrorists were trying hard to break open the pilot cabin door and only one was keeping an eye on us. I thought this might be our chance to escape. Something happened and the leader of the terrorist group gave instructions to the others. I quickly got up from my seat and, without making a sound, I moved towards the emergency door. Crouching low, I made my way to the back, where the emergency exit was located. Our plane had already landed. I asked others to help me open the door. Time was ticking, so I started to open the emergency door. As the door swung open, I looked to my right. A man of my age was helping me. Some people opened the landing gear. The terrorist was now inside the pilot%u2019s cabin. The pilots had already escaped. They were trying to connect to the airplane%u2019s headquarters.
