CELEBRATING GOD%u2019S GOODNESS 237I am truly grateful to the school for conducting such assemblies. It has truly been a blessing to me. There are also many other things that I really enjoy, making each day at school special. Clarence High School has a warm, safe and friendly environment. From the students to the teachers, the administration and the field staff, each and every person contributes to what makes our school truly special. As Clarencians, we should all be proud to have the privilege of studying in this wonderful institution. I personally thank God for giving me the opportunity to study here. This school has taught me many valuable lessons and instilled many virtues in me. Over the past eleven years, I have learned the importance of discipline, time management, planning and so much more.It%u2019s hard to believe that eleven years have gone by; it feels like just yesterday I was starting school. Time flies so quickly, and sadly, all good things eventually come to an end.Sharon Grace GanjiClass 10BThe first day of school, I imagine, is one of those days that stays with everyone, perhaps even for a lifetime. I am no exception. I remember with a striking amount of clarity walking into the small colourful classroom for the first time. I remember waving goodbye to my father and searching for a vacant seat. I remember that many of the other students were crying and clinging to their parents%u2019 hands as if their lives depended on it %u2014 but not me. I was excited to start school. I chose a seat in the third row, right at the back, next to a girl who would later become one of my best friends. The first conversation between us was short and direct, but soon, we grew to be extremely close and practically joined at the hip. That day, as soon as the bell rang, signifying that class was about to begin, I was ready and nearly bursting with excitement. I remember the playground, with its sturdy swings, whirling merry-go-round, and my favourite %u2014 the shiny metallic slide. I never missed an opportunity to go on that slide during short breaks and I often counted the minutes until the bell would ring, signalling that I could finally go on it. Some of my happiest moments were spent playing with my friends on that playground.I cannot say that I do not wish to go back to those days. Life was simpler, more satisfying and overflowing with possibilities. My worries were small and life seemed so large. As the years go by, those days remain engraved in my memory and will continue to as long as I live.Aliyah Robins Class 10CLife Was SimplerThere are certain moments in life that no amount of time could ever erase from our memories. Admittedly, they are few and far between, but there are a handful of moments that have stuck with me for years and one of them is my first day of school.
