74 THE CLARENCIAN 2024-2025Redwood House students participated enthusiastically in the Flack Memorial Scripture Contest, investing great effort and preparation. Their hard work was rewarded with First Place, a proud achievement for the entire House. This momentum continued into the first inter-house sports events%u2014throwball, basketball, and football. Despite tiring practice sessions, both boys%u2019 and girls%u2019 teams displayed resilience, teamwork, and determination, making our House spirit shine brightly during competitions.Our speakers excelled in the InterHouse English Public Speaking competition with confidence and clarity. In debates, Ruth Ann Thomas of Class 10B won Second Place in the ICSE Debate, while Rebecca Joan Sebastian of 12 Science secured Third Place in the ISC Debate. Redwood House achieved First Place overall, reflecting the dedication and skill of our participants.The Annual Senior Athletics Meet held on 24th August 2024 was another highlight. From test heats to march past practices and tent decorations, the experience was memorable. Our mascots, Charles Leclerc and Lightning McQueen, symbolised speed, passion, and excellence. After a day of spirited performances, Redwood House secured Second Place.We also participated in CLADS on 27th and 28th September 2024. Guided by the theme Kairos%u2014God%u2019s appointed time%u2014our efforts were fruitful, and we won First Place. At the Inter-House MUN in November, students earned several individual awards, securing Second Place overall.I am deeply grateful to our House Counsellors, teachers, Prefect Body, and all Redwoodites for their unwavering support.
